Caligari’s Hardware is locally owned and operated by E. Caligari & Son. William Caligari, Sr. opened Caligari's Hardware in 1962. Fifty years and three locations later, Caligari's continues to be the preeminent hardware store in the Lenox area. Caligari's Hardware is managed by Rudy Mantegari, who became store manager in 1967. The President is Jeff Caligari, who represents the third generation of family ownership.
E. Caligari & Son had its auspicious beginning when Eugene Caligari, newly arrived from Italy in 1898, embarked upon the American dream of owning his own business. The business began as a paint contracting business and evolved over the years into retail operations with six diverse businesses. William Caligari, Sr. became president in 1950; he learned the painting trade and expanded the business into other areas over the next forty-five years. Jeffrey Caligari is currently President and William Caligari, Jr. is Vice President of the company.
